What does the $89 diagnostic actually cover?
A technician measures static pressure, refrigerant charge, electrical components, airflow at your registers and the condition of the coil and drain. You get the readings and a written explanation of what they mean. If you go ahead with the repair, the $89 comes off the invoice.
What is a Manual J load calculation and why does it matter?
It is a room-by-room calculation of how much heating and cooling your house actually needs, based on its size, insulation, windows and orientation. Most replacements skip it and simply match whatever was there before, which perpetuates a sizing mistake that may have been made decades ago.
Is a bigger system better?
No, and this is the most expensive misunderstanding in the trade. An oversized system reaches the thermostat setting quickly and shuts off before it has removed enough humidity, so the house reads 72 and still feels damp. It also short-cycles, which wears out the compressor sooner.
How quickly can you get here in an emergency?
We run 24/7 dispatch and aim to reach emergency calls in Davidson and Williamson counties the same day. During a heat wave the queue is real — Comfort Plan members are scheduled ahead of non-members, which is most of what the plan buys you.
Do you charge by the hour?
Repairs are quoted as a job price before we start, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. If we find something underneath that changes the scope, we stop and re-quote rather than letting the invoice grow.
Do heat pumps work in Tennessee winters?
Yes. Modern variable-speed heat pumps hold useful output far below the temperatures that gave older units their reputation. Nashville gets a handful of nights cold enough to need backup heat, and sizing those strips correctly is the part that matters.
Will you work on a system you did not install?
Yes, on any residential brand. If a system is beyond economical repair we will say so plainly and show you the numbers rather than selling you a repair we expect to fail.
Do you offer financing?
Yes, on replacements and larger installations, through a third-party lender. Terms are presented alongside the cash price in the written proposal so you can compare the real cost of both.
